Gulden Draak 9000 Quadruple is a big 10.7% Belgian Dark Strong, AKA Trappist Quad. This imposing ale is named for the Golden Dragon on the Belfry in Ghent. Gulden Drakk is a dark ale with caramel foam head, a full mouthfeel, and flavors of roasted malt, dark fruit, and caramel that lead to a long, bittersweet finish. It is a dark, strong, complex ale with rich malts, dark fruits and a touch of spice. The style shares many characteristics with the Dubbel, but is more intense in almost every way. With ABV ratings from 8 to 12%, the alcohol is apparent but should add a smooth warmth without being hot.
