Unlike other Belgian brewers that have been around for decades, or even centuries, Brasserie de la Senne is an upstart, operating as a gypsy brewer from 2003 to 2010. Their brewery in Brussels, Belgium has a start-up spirit, much like American craft brewers, but with an eye to their Belgian heritage.
Taras Boulba is a Belgian Blond Ale loaded with complex yeast flavors and generously hopped with the finest aromatic hops, giving it a refreshing character and bright citrus aromas. Not like the American Blonde, with a light character and low ABV. Belgians like their Blonds much bolder, although this one comes in at only 4.5%. This golden ale shows subtle fruity and spicy Belgian yeast notes while finishing clean and dry, almost like a Lager.
