Zócalo is a Mexican restaurant on Metairie Road in the former Vega Tapas Cafe location. Edgar Caro and his business partner, Antonio Mata, created Zocalo to be about the food, the culture, and the different ingredients found in Mexican culture. They developed their interest in Mexican cooking together, on trips to the culinary hubs of Oaxaca and Mexico City.
